Mark Ronson tops 2015 best sellers

Despite having initially been released in late 2014, Mark Ronson’s retro dance (soon to be) classic “Uptown Funk” has been named the biggest-selling song of 2015 in the UK notching up a combined sales and streaming total of 1.76 million, reports the Official Charts Company. The song spent seven weeks at number one from December 2014 and then went on to remain in the UK top 40 for 39 more weeks.

Coming in at  number two for 2015 was OMI’s “Cheerleader” with combined sales of 1.52 million followed by Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” at number three with a combined sales total of 1.25 million. It is also the only song in the top five best sellers that failed to reach the number one spot but it did peak at number 2 and stayed there for four consecutive weeks.

Even though it was only released in October, Adele’s “Hello” managed to finish at number six in the best sellers list.
