Album Description

Let’s Begin, is Martin Trotman’s debut funk, R&B, contemporary jazz album. For many years as a keyboardist, vocalist, writer, producer and musical director Martin has supported emerging artists, managing portfolios and nurturing fresh talent. In addition, he has toured with many established artists both in the UK and internationally.

Martin developed his craft and skills playing in church, later studying composition and piano at one of Europe’s most prestigious music Universities, the Birmingham Conservatoire. With this album, Martin steps out of the shadows and presents us with an exquisitely well-crafted body of music. Equally, his arrangement skills and musicianship illuminate each track featuring vibrant funk lead piano, horns, slow jams, vocals, with sprinkles of gospel harmonisation. In addition, there are some delightful collaborations, notably LA legendary guitarist Caleb Quaye, UK saxophonist Nik Carter, and vocalist Belinda Kae.

Let’s Begin is undoubtedly an inspiring debut album.
