Album Description

Creator Chris Brindle has written ‘the book’ (story) most of the lyrics, has cast, and directed the brand new musical “Guardian Angels” which stages its debut performances in June 2016. The musical had its first incarnation as “Auditions” and Chris has headlined its development into this fully fledged musical.

This release is an original cast studio recording of all 21 songs from the show which were recorded in the early months of 2016 and it features some of the best musicians in the county together with three talented professional musical theatre actresses delighted to be given the chance to help create a brand new original musical from scratch.

The songs tell the story of three musical theatre actresses stranded in Harwich having been “cut” whilst auditioning for its (fictional) “End Of The Pier Show”. They go to the pub and meet a young singer/songwriter (Fern Teather) who agrees to help them write their own musical about success and failure in the creative arts. Together they work out how to put on a musical at The Edinburgh Fringe, with a little help and hindrance from their parents and friends.
