Album Description

Marc Catley  and Geoff Mann were two musicians who came from different parts of the musical spectrum but when they came together in the studio some strange and wonderful things happened. Marc’s music was a fusion of rock music with his virtuoso skills on the classical acoustic guitar (he had been a long time guitar teacher). Geoff was more of an experimental rocker well known for his work with the bands Twelfth Night and the Eh! Geoff Mann Band as well as his solo projects.

‘Fine Difference’ features all of the songs Marc & Geoff had previously released on the cassette (remember them!) album ‘In Difference’ all wrapped up in some rare and hard to find solo tracks from both artists. Marc’s songs are intelligently arranged and impeccably performed. Geoff, doyen of the Reading Festival and the Marquee, has a very distinctive vocal style. His lyrics leap out and poke you in the eye. This is an experimental album, ranging from folk songs to an abstract acappella!

Marc & Geoff also released an acclaimed instrumental album together called “The Off The End Of The Pier Show” (which is also aggregated Worldwide by Doxmedia). Sadly, Geoff passed away in the late 1990s but this album is a great reminder of their work together.
