Album Description

BEN OKAFOR is a musician, writer, poet, performer, actor, producer and also heads up his own charity in the UK. Born in Biafra, he was a boy soldier in the Biafran war and his childhood experiences, coupled with his faith and beliefs, have driven him on to be a passionate advocator for human rights, justice, fairness and peace. Ben arrived in the UK in the early 1980s as a young world, reggae and folk inspired singer/songwriter and embarked on his long and varied solo music and drama career.

Following a break from working in the arts due to family commitments Ben has gradually re-emerged back into the music world and this time he is not alone – he is backed by a band of friends also known as ‘the Liberators’ – who join him on his quest to produce quality passion filled music to challenge and inspire. And 2023 sees the first recorded fruits of their labour with their album (and proceeding singles) “Politic Yoyo” – A pulsating fusion of World and reggae with a poetical lyrical message for everyone
